Research interests

My research focuses on the study of topological states of matter and topological materials, for instance, topological insulators and topological semimetals. In particular, I study their properties using mainly low-energy models of the systems or materials under consideration.

Topological phases are fascinating new states of matter whose unconventional features, such as robust surface states, quantized physical observables and exotic quasiparticles, not only challenge our fundamental understanding of matter in general but could also lead to novel devices in electronics and spintronics.
